Dr. Dennis Tim Crowe, Jr., DVM, DACVS, DACVECC, FCCM
Dr. Crowe graduated from Iowa State University with a DVM with honors, completed a 1 year internship at Colorado State University, and a 5 year residency in surgery at the Ohio State University and Riverside Methodist Hospital. He also had an instructorship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit while being a staff surgeon at Westcott Hospital and Animal Emergency Room. Dr. Crowe was Associate Professor of Surgery at The University of Georgia. He then helped establish and direct the Animal Emergency Center and be a surgeon at this speciality hospital in Milwaukee, as well as those in Atlanta GA, Carson City NV, and Santa Cruz, Thousand Oaks, and Ventura CA. He was also Chief of Surgery and Critical Care at the Regional Institute for Veterinary Emergencies and Referrals before expanding his mobile surgical practice in Georgia.
Dr. Crowe is a Founder and Charter Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, a Fellow in the American College of Critical Care Medicine, and a member in the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine. He developed and was the original publisher of over 50 procedures that are now used throughout the world. Dr. Crowe has been an invited lecturer throughout the US and the world (having traveled to over 30 countries and giving over a thousand presentations) and has helped train over 50 interns and residents in surgery and emergency and critical care.
Dr. Crowe is also a certified and licensed Advanced EMT and NPQ certified firefighter with over 25 years of experience as a volunteer firefighter and medical first responder. He is a training officer with Oconee County Fire Rescue. He is also involved with the training of canine search and rescue, police, fire and disaster medical response teams and is a member of the National Disaster Life-Support Consortium.
